Yes, I Will Go, Father

In this week's gospel, Jesus makes it clear that sinners who repent are entering the kingdom before the priests and elders who do not repent and believe. Remember the examples we discussed in class. Try to think more about this throughout the week!

This week we prayed for the following people and circumstances:

Lord, please hear our prayers.

1.) For our great grandparents going through difficult times.
2.) For our hard working parents.
3.) For those in automobile accidents.
4.) For those who have died.
5.) For students dealing with peer pressure.
6.) For all those that smoke to stop smoking
7.) For the soldiers in Iraq.
8.) For those going through difficult times.
9.) For the health & safety of all.
10.) For our friends who are sick.
11.) For our mothers.
12.) For our fathers.
13.) For our pets.
14.) For those suffering physically.
15.) For the lonely.
16.) For world peace.

Jesus, we know you are with us. We will call on your name always. Jesus, you know all our needs. You are always ready to help us. Give us the courage to be your faithful followers each and every day. Amen.

This week we reflected, prayed and responded to the following:

Have you ever said, "yes" to someone and then not done what you agreed to do? Did you ever say "no" to someone who asked you (like a parent or a teacher) but then regretted it and changed your mind? Jesus is making it clear that sinners who repent are entering the kingdom before the priests and elders who did not repent and believe. What do you think about this?

*Note -- No refletion star this week! Let's remember to answer both parts of the reflection assignment. We'll discuss our responses next week!

Homework:

1.) Visit this website
2.) Study chapters 1-3. We'll have our first test on October 20th.

Loving God, we say "yes" to your will. Through the grace of the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, may we grow in faith to love and service others in the name of your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Have a wonderful week!

Many blessings,
Mrs. D.

What a great gift the Lemont 5th graders have in Mrs. D as a cathechist. Blogging....now how cool is that. I hope to see in the future that many of the class might comment on things they are learning! I offer in my prayers for Mrs. D. and her 5th grade class.
