We are the Vineyard

In this week's gospel, Jesus helps us understand that God is like the owner of the vineyard. Like the vineyard owners in this week's reading, God has planted in us the very finest of everything -- he even gave us his beloved Son to show us his unconditional love. Our love for God, his Son, and one another will bring forth a harvest of joy, hope, and peace in the world.

This week we prayed for the following people and circumstances:

Lord, please hear our prayers.

1.) For those suffering from hunger, sickness and war in third world countries.
2.) For those that are sick and don't have access to good health care.
3.) For our family members.
4.) For homeless animals and pets.
5.) For all the soldiers in Iraq.
6.) For our grandparents.
7.) For our mothers and fathers.
8.) For the homeless.
9.) For everyone to spread the good news of the Lord.
10.) For our brothers and sisters.
11.) For the sick and disabled.
12.) For world peace.
13.) For those in hospitals and nursing homes.

Jesus, we know you are with us. We will call on your name always. Jesus, you know all our needs. You are always ready to help us. Give us the courage to be your faithful followers each and every day. Amen.

This week we reflected, prayed and responded to the following:

What are you doing to contribute to the growth of God's "vineyard"? Explain. Are you rejecting or holding back any talents or opportunities that can help share the goodness in your heart with others? What might those be?

This week's reflection star is Matthew F. Matthew's response can be found below. Great job!

I am contributing to the growth of God's vineyard by praying, going to church, helping others, picking up trash, and not lying. I am holding back three things that can share the goodness in my heart. One is being active. I could help others be more energetic and fit. I could also play the clarinet to people who have illnesses. Finally, I could play a sport with them like football, soccer, swimming, tennis, volleyball, baseball, basketball and wallball. This would help them learn a a sport.

Homework:

1.) Study for test on October 20th! Be sure to use the study guide I handed out in class.
2.) Fill up your baby bottles with loose change and donations so we can help babies in need.
3.) *Reminder* -- No class next week (10/13).

Good and generous God, help us grow in love. Show us how we can share the harvest of your vineyard -- the goodness of our hearts -- with others. Amen.

Have a great week!

Many blessings,
Mrs. D.
