Baptism is the Foundation of Christian Life

Boys & Girls,

Yesterday we began our unit on baptism. As discussed, it's important we remember the following three things about baptism:

1.) We are freed from sin.
2.) We become children of God.
3.) We are welcomed into the church.

Because of baptism we have the hope of eternal life!

Remember that you can always find a quiet place to talk to Jesus and God the Father. You can find your quiet place the same way we do so in class. Simply find a favorite chair or couch and rest comfortably. Begin to relax by closing your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Breathe in and hold for three seconds, then slowly breath out. As you are breathing, take in the positive spirit of God's love and breathe out all the negatives in your life. Remember that Jesus is there with you. He wants to hear everything that's going on in your life! End with your body relaxed and your eyes closed. Say this prayer quietly to yourself:

Glory to the Father,
and to the son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and will be forever.
Amen.

This Week's Homework:

1.) Read pages 51-56 in your workbook.
2.) Keep looking for a baptism photo. Next week we'll discuss our Baptismal Remembrance project that you'll complete with the help of a parent at home.
3.) Color and cut out your baptismal fonts. Be sure to review it frequently.
4.) Fill up your baby bottle and be sure to bring them next week.

Please leave a comment when you stop by. Have you done something special for someone today? We want to hear about it!

Finally, always remember that when we serve, we are giving witness to Jesus.

Have a safe and fun Halloween. See you next week.

Many blessings,
Mrs. D.
